The AKT Course is a crash preparation for the AKT in 1 day. It covers all the theoretical aspects of General Practice that the exam aims to cover including both clinical and ethical problems. The course covers all aspects of the exam starting from what you need to expect to all the relevant clinical guidelines and data that you need to secure a pass in the AKT.
This course can be taken right at the beginning of your preparation to give you a jump start or even at the end of you preparation to assess yourself. Either way it provides you with extensive material to prepare for the exam early !

This 1 day course covers all the aspects of stages 1 to 4 of the selection process into GP training 2010. It covers the essential aspects application process, Stage 2 assessment in detail with comprehensive material for candidates to work on including Clinical Problem Solving and Professional Dilemma Paper. It gives you a detailed insight into Stage 3 Assessments (Group Tasks, Simulated patient encounters, clinical and ethical prioritisation tasks).
The course covers the complete process from application to offer of position.

This intense task based course and workshop offers thorough focus on your final assessment into GP training. This course gives you a comprehensive insight into what to expect in the Stage 3 Assessments along with extensive group based tasks that covers all the components of Stage 3 Assessment.

The course covers marking techniques and scoring strategies in order to ensure the maximum chance of success in this very competitive and important part of the assessment process. Candidates get hands-on experience in performing the tasks in respective groups. Spaces are limited, so book early!

THE MODEL: The course covers all the areas in the Pendletons Model relating each to the marking scheme in the CSA.
We explore techniques that allow you to be flexible in challenging cases, yet score in all the areas of the assessment model.
Finally, we cover possible challenging cases that you may encounter in the CSA followed by a demonstration for you to assess and feedback.
THE MATTER: This the part you need to know to solve the random problem that comes through the door.
The course aims to cover the knowledge base required to manage the more challenging problems in the CSA, by means of a comprehensive checklist. This ensures that nothing important is missed during your preparation.
The course includes simulations of some typical CSA stations to help you reflect on the first days work and construct your preparation plan for the Mock! (and your actual CSA test)
& THE MOCK: The only CSA course that gives you a real 12 station mock of the true CSA. You need to record this on a video camera for self assessment with your trainer or it can be left to be marked by our GP trainers.
The date for the mock test will remain flexible, in order to allow preparation time, but needs to be booked at registration before the theoretical CSA course.
